Colette McGahon-Tosh began her vocal studies with Dr Veronica Dunne in the College of Music in Dublin before being awarded two Arts Council of Ireland scholarships enabling her to attend Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio in London. While in London, she won the Miriam Licette Scholarship and was a finalist in the Kathleen Ferrier Memorial Competition. Colette completed her formal vocal studies in Paris. To date, Colette McGahon has appeared with, among others, Opera Ireland, Opera Northern Ireland, Opera Theatre Company, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Opera 80, the opera festivals of Covent Garden, Buxton, and Glyndebourne and at the BBC Proms. In 2004, Colette was appointed Head of Singing in the Royal Irish Academy of Music and Drama.
