The Unequal Marriage or Pimpinone - a bright comic opera by Georg Philipp Teleman, offers a perfect introduction to opera.  Sung in English, it is a timeless and entertaining tale of Pimpinone's ambitious servant Vespetta and how she schemes to trick the rich old fool into marriage.

Will the charms of the humble but devious chambermaid work their magic on her wealthy master?

"This delightful production, directed by Donal Maxwell, who revels in the role of Pimpinone, is pure joy.  He is vivaciously aided by Rebecca rudge, with her sexy cartwheel and naughty feather duster". (Manchester Evening News)

The evening begins with a selection of English songs performed by David Revels.
