  Tutor: Elizabeth Hetherington from Bird College, London.

Having worked in opera, Elizabeth moved into the more popular side of music, and has become a well respected teacher both in the classical field and over the past few years in the field of Musical Theatre. She is now the Head of Singing at Bird College where she works with students who are studying an Honours Degree in Dance and Theatre Performance or a National Diploma in Musical Theatre. Many of her singers are working in musicals in the UK and around the world. She is in charge of the final year platform projects and is the Musical Director for the Foundation Degree 1st year project.  From September she will also be the Acting Head of Drama working to help co-ordinate the link between drama and Musical Theatre.  

Elizabeth is also a writer and is the lyricist for a new musical based on Mary Kelly the last victim of Jack the Ripper which was recently performed in concert at the New Players Theatre in London. She has also written lyrics for pantomimes, and is working with a composer on a new collection of songs.

 The workshop will cover vocal technique, repertoire as well as featuring participating students singing in various musical theatre styles.
