We are nearing our deadlines for enrolment and casting, so if you are going to apply for IVM 2008, please do so as soon as possible. There are three reasons for this:

1) Numbers enrolled on the course are well up on last year and places are being taken up fast.

2) The deadline for enrolments (i.e. successful applicants who have paid their deposit) is
March 31. We will start casting opera scenes and oratorio ensembles in the following week.

The deadline for submitting song, aria, duet and cabaret repertoire is April 30.

3) If you apply after these dates you may reduce your chances of getting your preferred roles.
Applications received after this date will be considered subject to availability of spaces and roles.

The course will start on the morning of Saturday, July 12 and finish late on Saturday, July 20, with the performance of our rehearsed opera scenes and a big party! As with IVM 2007 we would like residents to arrive from Friday afternoon/evening on July 11, and non-residents by 10 am on Saturday, July 12. Classes will start at 10.30 am on Saturday, July 12.

New for IVM 2008:

          American and Russian Song Classes
A performance of Oratorio excerpts and other ensemble music
          Oratorio choir and Opera chorus
How to warm up and practise – from the experts
          Opera Duets staged
Illustrated talk on American Song – Nicole Panizza

Tutors

Chris Cowell, Bernadette Iglich, Penny MacKay, Sheila McCarthy, Elena Nalimova, John Ramster, Roberto Recchia, Mark Shanahan. and Stuart Smith

The costs are €780/ (Currently £612) for residents and €580 for non-residents.
Unfortunately the Sterling price has increased considerably in recent months due to an unfavourable exchange rate. In the light of this volatility the Sterling rate can now only be considered as a guide. Hopefully it will fall again before the final payment date.
The repertoire has been available for some time on the website and most of those who have enrolled with us have already bid for roles. To see what we have on offer, go to:

Finally, a reminder. We have started an “FAQs” page on the website in response to IVM first-timers seeking information about the course. We have provided some questions and answers but would really like your help in providing more. Please do this by going to:

If you would like to add your suggestions please e-mail them to me directly at
