Tosini Ireland now member of EVTA - September 2011

All thanks to the sterling efforts of Paul Deegan, Turlough Gorman and Marie O'Sullivan, Tosini was recently voted onto the membership of European Voice Teachers Association as the organisation representing singing teachers for the island of Ireland.  This makes Ireland the 19th country to join EVTA which includes Sweden, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, UK, Spain & many more.

Thanks to Hilary Bracefield I was able to get a seat for
this Handel production.  His operas are
notoriously difficult to stage successfully---even in his lifetime the
audiences had begun to tire of the da capo arias and fanciful plots---but this
imaginative new production  brought the
work to 21st-century life with expert singing, a fresh approach to the
story-line and colourful fancy tricks which delighted everyone. 

VOCAL WEEKEND WORKOUT ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC 15-17 JULY 2011

Thirty-six of us gathered together at
6.30pm at the Royal Academy of Music where we were greeted by Helen Wills, administrator
of the Vocal Weekend Workout course  The
course participants were an eclectic bunch, with some as young as sixteen, as
to the upper age, well, that would be telling, wouldn’t it? Suffice to say that
there was a huge variety of styles, abilities, backgrounds and aspirations, all
which made for an exciting learning experience.
